What is SwimMark?
The Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) has rebranded itself to Swim England and Swim21, the quality standard for Clubs, is now called SwimMark,
Formerly called swim21, SwimMark accreditation is Swim England’s quality standard for clubs. It recognises high standards of governance, sustainability and effectiveness. We are proud to say that Kimberley S.C has gained accreditation every year since 2004.
SwimMark is the ASA’s club development model – a planning tool, enabling clubs to help swimmers, coaches and administrators achieve their full potential. It is centred around the needs of the swimmers – striving to provide them with the best possible environment.
• The aim of SwimMark is: “to provide appropriate opportunities for swimmers at each stage of their development, in order that they will achieve their full potential.
SwimMark Accreditation is a ‘Quality mark’. It recognises nationally and regionally the clubs that are committed to providing safe, effective and quality services for the benefit of their members.
Clubs work steadily towards the attainment of a series of outcomes all of which are seen as essential if the right level of support is to be provided at each stage of an athlete’s development.
By choosing a SwimMark accredited club, parents can be assured that their swimmers are in a club that has been scrutinised and shown to have everything in place for developing their potential. They can also be assured that the club keeps up to date too, as SwimMark accreditation is validated on an annual basis.
It shows that a Club provides the right environment which ensures the welfare of members and encourages everyone to enjoy sport and stay involved throughout their lives.
An accredited Club is recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages as well as helping parents and carers know that they’re choosing the right Club for their young people.
